Areas
of Focus MediaWireless focus
our services in the areas where we best know the technology, customers,
business, people, strategic partners, channels, and competition. Broadly, this
means that we work with companies in the IP(web)-based
and mobile services and media. Within these verticals, we concentrate on customer-centric
approaches with the potential to generate recurring revenue growth.
Our current focus areas are:
Media.
Digital media has exploded
exponentially due to the increased distribution channels and 'user generated
content'. We are now at the point of "frictionless media" which can move
seamlessly from one format to the other. This change has created great risks for
the incumbents and opportunities for the new media firms.
IP(web)-Based
Services.
Service based on IP are the
key to telecommunication carriers AND e-business stake holders gradually
creating new offerings and reducing the cost of existing ones. Among the key IP
services that will generate in revenue during the next five years are: 3rd
generation e-publishing, IPTV and Web-TV, smart shopping and unified messaging
systems.
Combined such with 'communities'
in the wireless/web/media sector
are the growth key players.
Content.
Revenue generated from
wireless data (currently mainly UGC) alone will reach $50 billion worldwide over the next five years,
according to the Yankee Group. The growth will be fueled by wireless consumers'
appetite for entertainment and communications such as games, video and music
combined with friend connections delivered over higher
speed networks and handsets with increasing multimedia capabilities.
Broadband Services.
Broadband
wireless services will generate annual revenue of $3.7 billion in the United
States in 2009, according to industry analysts. Among the factors driving
wireless broadband adoption are: increasing allocations of unlicensed spectrum,
increasing flexibility in licensed spectrum utilization, decreasing competitive
pressures resulting from ILEC network deregulation, and equipment
standardization around WiMax. In Central Europe
we see a
complete different landscape and a lot more actives around ADSL2, vDSL and IPTV. |
